She is best known for Titliaan and for Dhakka, her collaboration with Sidhu Moose Wala, and in 2021 she reached a national television audience as a contestant on Bigg Boss 15. ## From Badal village to the Voice of Punjab stage Afsana Khan was born on 12 June 1994 and comes from Badal village in Sri Muktsar Sahib district, in the Malwa region of Punjab. Her route into music ran through the reality show circuit. In 2012 she competed in Voice of Punjab Season 3 and reached the top 5, an early sign that her unpolished, high-energy singing connected with ordinary listeners. In 2017 she entered the national singing show Rising Star Season 1 and finished in the top 7\. She has told the story herself: when she arrived at the Rising Star auditions she did not know any Bollywood songs, so she prepared Jag Suna Suna Lage at the venue itself and was selected on the strength of it. After the shows, she began singing in the Punjabi music industry with various labels, building the audience that her later hits would explode. She also writes songs and acts in her own videos, a combination that kept her constantly visible between releases. ## What made Titliaan a phenomenon? The breakthrough year was 2020\. Titliaan, released that year, became one of the defining Punjabi songs of its period, and its follow-up version Titliaan Warga travelled just as far. Around it came a rush of tracks that fixed her place in the industry: Bazaar, Kamaal Karte Ho, Kadar with Mani Sandhu, 855 with R Nait, and songs such as Lala Lori, Jaani Ve Jaani and Naina De Thekay. Parts of its video were filmed during a visit to her old school, the government senior secondary school in Badal village, and the video drew a police complaint over claims that it promoted gun culture. The catalogue around the hits is deep. She sang Pair and Banglow with Avvy Sra, the Kisaan Anthem released by Shree Brar during the farmers' protest years, Balam Ka System with the Haryanvi star Fazilpuria in 2021, Srinagar Waliye, Koi Hor with Dilnoor, Zakham, and the singles Jodaa and Dhokebaaz. Songs such as Tere Laare, whose video featured Amrit Maan and Wamiqa Gabbi, Na Maar, Chandigarh Shehr, Gutt Utte and Dila Himmat Kar filled out a run that made her, for a time, the default female voice producers called when a track needed folk weight. Her second collaboration with Moose Wala, Unf\*ckwithable, kept the partnership in front of listeners between the bigger releases. Around them sit the harder street songs, Badmashi, Vailpuna and Black Night, and the folk pleas, Hawa Karda, Jine Dukh and Maarna A Menu, proof that the Badal voice could carry menace and heartbreak in the same breath. ## Bigg Boss and the Bollywood playback years In 2021 Khan entered the Bigg Boss 15 house, taking her personality to a national reality television audience; her stay ended on day 40\. The visibility fed straight back into the music, and the next phase of her career took her into Hindi film playback. She sang Nasha with Badshah for the film Sukhee in 2023, and in 2025 her voice appeared across a run of Bollywood soundtracks: Tu Hai Toh Main Hoon with Arijit Singh for Sky Force, So Lene De for Ground Zero, Yaar Bichhda for Tehran, and Naal Nachana for Dhurandhar. It is a striking arc for a singer who once auditioned not knowing a single Bollywood song: within a decade she was singing inside Bollywood's biggest productions, in the same unmistakable voice she had carried out of Badal village. In her personal life, she married her long-time partner, the singer Saajz, also known as Sajan Sharma, on 20 February 2022\.
