Naranjanpur Fattuwal is a village of Baba Bakala tehsil in Amritsar district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Rayya, about 2 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Rayya community development block and is served by the Naranjan Pur Fattuwal gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037718, and it covers 418 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 2,235 people in Naranjanpur Fattuwal: 1,161 men and 1,074 women, living in 413 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 418 hectares, the population density works out to about 535 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 925 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 266, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,162 people, about 52 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 76.59 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 81.7 per cent and women at 71.07 per cent. The census recorded 706 workers, about 32 per cent of the village. Of the 610 main workers, the largest group, 330, were other workers in trade, transport and services, ahead of 184 cultivators on their own land and 76 agricultural labourers.
