Sawaya Rai Hithar is a village of Guru Harsahai tehsil in Ferozepur district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Guru Har Sahai, about 15 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Guru Har Sahai community development block and is served by the Sawaya Rai Hittar gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 034842, and it covers 62 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 83 people in Sawaya Rai Hithar: 37 men and 46 women, living in 20 households, an average of about 4.2 people per household. Spread over its 62 hectares, the population density works out to about 134 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1243 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 18, about 22 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 83 people, about 100 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 56.92 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 74.07 per cent and women at 44.74 per cent.
