Lodhipur is a village of Gurdaspur tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dhariwal, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dhariwal community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028348, and it covers 142 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 681 people in Lodhipur: 377 men and 304 women, living in 122 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 142 hectares, the population density works out to about 480 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 806 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 61, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 33 people, about 5 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 77.1 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 80.97 per cent and women at 72.66 per cent. The census recorded 193 workers, about 28 per cent of the village. Of the 191 main workers, the largest group, 90, were cultivators on their own land, ahead of 67 agricultural labourers and 33 other workers in trade, transport and services.
