Dhanowal is a village of Hoshiarpur tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Hoshiarpur, about 20 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhunga community development block and is served by the Nangal Pind gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031401, and it covers 124 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 71 people in Dhanowal: 38 men and 33 women, living in 16 households, an average of about 4.4 people per household. Spread over its 124 hectares, the population density works out to about 57 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 868 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 15, about 21 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 0 people, about 0 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
