Kaulian is a village in Mukerian tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hazipur community development block and is served by the Nangal-Bihalan gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031039, and it covers 33 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 180 people in Kaulian: 98 men and 82 women, living in 31 households, an average of about 5.8 people per household. Spread over its 33 hectares, the population density works out to about 545 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 837 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 27, about 15 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 0 people, about 0 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
