Langrian is a village of Hoshiarpur tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Hoshiarpur, about 24 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-I community development block and is served by the Mundian--Jattan gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031664, and it covers 45 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 54 people in Langrian: 32 men and 22 women, living in 12 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 45 hectares, the population density works out to about 120 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 688 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 16, about 30 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 0 people, about 0 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 63.16 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 70.83 per cent and women at 50 per cent. The census recorded 26 workers, about 48 per cent of the village.
