Lola is a village of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Mukerian, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Mukerian community development block and is served by the Lohgarh gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031077, and it covers 57 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 645 people in Lola: 329 men and 316 women, living in 130 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 57 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,132 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 960 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 62, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 94 people, about 15 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 89.71 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 94.9 per cent and women at 84.43 per cent. The census recorded 145 workers, about 22 per cent of the village.
