Mudian Rangran is a village in Hoshiarpur tehsil of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Hoshiarpur, about 18 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Hoshiarpur-I community development block and is served by the Mudian--Rangran gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 031667, and it covers 106 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 197 people in Mudian Rangran: 110 men and 87 women, living in 39 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 106 hectares, the population density works out to about 186 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 791 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 20, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 67 people, about 34 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 82.49 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 86.14 per cent and women at 77.63 per cent. The census recorded 68 workers, about 35 per cent of the village. Of the 67 main workers, the largest group, 25, were cultivators on their own land, ahead of 20 agricultural labourers and 20 other workers in trade, transport and services. A further 1 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year. ## Land and farming Farming covers most of Mudian Rangran's land.
