Pandher is a village of Dasua tehsil in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dasua, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dasua community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030967, and it covers 104 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 551 people in Pandher: 265 men and 286 women, living in 122 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 104 hectares, the population density works out to about 530 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1079 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 58, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 11 people, about 2 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 89.05 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 92.34 per cent and women at 86.05 per cent.
