Bhikha Nangal is a village of Jalandhar West tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Kartarpur, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Jalandhar (West) community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030546, and it covers 167 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 489 people in Bhikha Nangal: 252 men and 237 women, living in 103 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 167 hectares, the population density works out to about 293 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 940 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 69, about 14 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 353 people, about 72 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 62.38 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 72.81 per cent and women at 51.23 per cent. The census recorded 196 workers, about 40 per cent of the village.
