Ghuduwal is a village of Shahkot tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Lohian Khass, about 3 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Lohian Khas community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029775, and it covers 290 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 980 people in Ghuduwal: 501 men and 479 women, living in 189 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 290 hectares, the population density works out to about 338 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 956 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 79, about 8 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 143 people, about 15 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 79.91 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 85.65 per cent and women at 74.11 per cent. The census recorded 305 workers, about 31 per cent of the village. Of the 257 main workers, the largest group, 129, were cultivators on their own land, ahead of 98 other workers in trade, transport and services and 19 household industry workers. A further 48 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year. ## Land and farming Farming covers most of Ghuduwal's land.
