Khurampur is a village of Shahkot tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Shahkot, about 6 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Shahkot community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029842, and it covers 319 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 943 people in Khurampur: 509 men and 434 women, living in 207 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 319 hectares, the population density works out to about 296 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 853 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 123, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 212 people, about 22 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 75.61 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 80.09 per cent and women at 70.37 per cent. The census recorded 292 workers, about 31 per cent of the village.
