Khusropur (Jalandhar I) is a village of Jalandhar East tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Jalandhar, about 3 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Jalandhar (East) community development block and is served by the Khusropur gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030361, and it covers 64 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 2,250 people in Khusropur (Jalandhar I): 1,171 men and 1,079 women, living in 490 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 64 hectares, the population density works out to about 3,516 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 921 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 220, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 978 people, about 43 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 87.98 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 92 per cent and women at 83.79 per cent. The census recorded 937 workers, about 42 per cent of the village.
