Kotli Sazawar is a village of Jalandhar West tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Bhogpur, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhogpur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030566, and it covers 94 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 469 people in Kotli Sazawar: 224 men and 245 women, living in 99 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 94 hectares, the population density works out to about 499 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1094 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 42, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 365 people, about 78 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 80.33 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 86.34 per cent and women at 74.77 per cent.
