Lohgarh is a village of Phillaur tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Goraya, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Phillaur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030190, and it covers 156 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 770 people in Lohgarh: 415 men and 355 women, living in 157 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 156 hectares, the population density works out to about 493 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 855 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 55, about 7 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 395 people, about 51 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 80 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 83.85 per cent and women at 75.38 per cent. The census recorded 256 workers, about 33 per cent of the village.
