Lutera Khurd is a village of Jalandhar East tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Adampur, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Adampur community development block and is served by the Lutera Kalan gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030284, and it covers 259 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 455 people in Lutera Khurd: 230 men and 225 women, living in 98 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 259 hectares, the population density works out to about 176 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 978 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 61, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 277 people, about 61 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 85.28 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 89.85 per cent and women at 80.71 per cent. The census recorded 133 workers, about 29 per cent of the village. Of the 97 main workers, the largest group, 65, were other workers in trade, transport and services, ahead of 28 cultivators on their own land and 2 agricultural labourers.
