Mansurpur is a village of Jalandhar West tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Bhogpur, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Adampur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030577, and it covers 158 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 674 people in Mansurpur: 352 men and 322 women, living in 136 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 158 hectares, the population density works out to about 427 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 915 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 58, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 441 people, about 65 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 90.42 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 91.54 per cent and women at 89.23 per cent. The census recorded 232 workers, about 34 per cent of the village. Of the 151 main workers, the largest group, 76, were other workers in trade, transport and services, ahead of 47 cultivators on their own land and 21 agricultural labourers.
