Mundi Kasu is a village of Shahkot tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Lohian Khass, about 11 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Lohian Khas community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029697, and it covers 111 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 117 people in Mundi Kasu: 57 men and 60 women, living in 19 households, an average of about 6.2 people per household. Spread over its 111 hectares, the population density works out to about 105 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1053 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 7, about 6 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 22 people, about 19 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 76.36 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 80 per cent and women at 72.73 per cent. The census recorded 40 workers, about 34 per cent of the village.
