Nangal Manohar is a village of Jalandhar West tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Jalandhar, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Jalandhar (West) community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030463, and it covers 197 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 292 people in Nangal Manohar: 148 men and 144 women, living in 63 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 197 hectares, the population density works out to about 148 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 973 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 22, about 8 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 137 people, about 47 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 65.93 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 70.9 per cent and women at 61.03 per cent. The census recorded 141 workers, about 48 per cent of the village.
