Pattar Khurd is a village of Jalandhar West tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Kartarpur, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Jalandhar (West) community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030530, and it covers 231 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 1,144 people in Pattar Khurd: 587 men and 557 women, living in 224 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 231 hectares, the population density works out to about 495 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 949 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 83, about 7 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 659 people, about 58 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 78.04 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 82.55 per cent and women at 73.07 per cent. The census recorded 375 workers, about 33 per cent of the village.
