Shahpur is a village of Jalandhar East tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Alawalpur, about 1 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Adampur community development block and is served by the Lesariwala gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030331, and it covers 162 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 85 people in Shahpur: 47 men and 38 women, living in 13 households, an average of about 6.5 people per household. Spread over its 162 hectares, the population density works out to about 52 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 809 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 8, about 9 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 3 people, about 4 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
