Sundar Tatar is a village of Phillaur tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Nurmahal, about 5 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Rurka Kalan community development block and is served by the Sundar Kalan gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030232, and it covers 270 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 140 people in Sundar Tatar: 76 men and 64 women, living in 31 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household. Spread over its 270 hectares, the population density works out to about 52 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 842 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 20, about 14 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 30 people, about 21 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
