Maio Patti is a village of Phagwara tehsil in Kapurthala district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Phagwara, about 24 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Phagwara community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029577, and it covers 112 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 664 people in Maio Patti: 353 men and 311 women, living in 157 households, an average of about 4.2 people per household. Spread over its 112 hectares, the population density works out to about 594 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 881 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 56, about 8 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 119 people, about 18 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 87.01 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 90.74 per cent and women at 82.75 per cent. The census recorded 243 workers, about 37 per cent of the village. Of the 210 main workers, the largest group, 81, were other workers in trade, transport and services, ahead of 66 agricultural labourers and 38 cultivators on their own land.
