It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Kapurthala, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kapurthala community development block and is served by the Khanowal gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029297, and it covers 138 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 62 people in Passan: 32 men and 30 women, living in 10 households, an average of about 6.2 people per household.
