Azizpur Khurd is a village in Pathankot tehsil of Pathankot district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dina Nagar, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Pathankot community development block and is served by the Azizpurkhurd gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027531, and it covers 116 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 830 people in Azizpur Khurd: 428 men and 402 women, living in 157 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 116 hectares, the population density works out to about 716 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 939 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 104, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 206 people, about 25 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 84.44 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 89.21 per cent and women at 79.19 per cent. The census recorded 235 workers, about 28 per cent of the village. Of the 229 main workers, the largest group, 104, were agricultural labourers, ahead of 81 other workers in trade, transport and services and 32 cultivators on their own land. A further 6 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year. ## Land and farming Farming covers most of Azizpur Khurd's land. Of the village's 116 hectares, 102 hectares were net sown area in the 2011 record, and every sown hectare was irrigated. Irrigation came mainly from wells and tube-wells (102 hectares). About 14 hectares were under non-agricultural uses such as the village settlement, roads and ponds. Farm power supply was recorded at 16 hours a day.
