Simbal is a village of Pathankot tehsil in Pathankot district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Pathankot, about 30 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bamial community development block and is served by the Danwal gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027698, and it covers 268 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 101 people in Simbal: 57 men and 44 women, living in 20 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 268 hectares, the population density works out to about 38 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 772 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 19, about 19 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 0 people, about 0 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 74.39 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 81.25 per cent and women at 64.71 per cent.
