Chhaju Bhatt is a village in Nabha tehsil of Patiala district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Nabha, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Nabha community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036364, and it covers 405 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 1,125 people in Chhaju Bhatt: 578 men and 547 women, living in 197 households, an average of about 5.7 people per household. Spread over its 405 hectares, the population density works out to about 278 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 946 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 136, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 297 people, about 26 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 75.13 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 80 per cent and women at 69.94 per cent. The census recorded 341 workers, about 30 per cent of the village. Of the 309 main workers, the largest group, 121, were cultivators on their own land, ahead of 93 agricultural labourers and 87 other workers in trade, transport and services.
