Shahpur Khurd Alias Lakhmirwala is a village of Sunam tehsil in Sangrur district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Sunam, about 2 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Sunam community development block and is served by the Shahpur Khurd Alis Lakhmirawala gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039799, and it covers 536 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 1,719 people in Shahpur Khurd Alias Lakhmirwala: 918 men and 801 women, living in 324 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 536 hectares, the population density works out to about 321 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 873 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 201, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 480 people, about 28 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded. Literacy in 2011 stood at 67.39 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 76.07 per cent and women at 57.78 per cent.
