It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Amritsar, about 24 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Gandiwind community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037855, and it covers 722 hectares. ## Population and households The 2011 census counted 93 people in Rakh Sarai Amanat Khan: 51 men and 42 women, living in 13 households, an average of about 7.2 people per household.
