Delhi Police granted permission for the singer's October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium after meetings with the organisers, officials confirmed to the news agency ANI. The decision came a day after it emerged that police had withheld permission for the show, citing specific threat related inputs and the heavy security commitments of the festive season. ## What the organisers said BookMyShow Live, which is running the tour, said reports that the concert had been cancelled were inaccurate. In its statement, the company said permission had been temporarily withheld, not cancelled, and the two should not be confused. 'BookMyShow Live had a cordial meeting with Delhi Police, presented a detailed plan and have assured Delhi Police of full compliance with all security, traffic and crowd-management requirements. On that basis, permission for the event has been reconsidered and issued,' the statement said. The company added that it would keep working with the police so that the show is a good experience for attendees as well as for local commuters. ## How the refusal unfolded The permission request had been submitted by BookMyShow Live on October 14\. In a letter dated October 21, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Anant Mittal informed the organisers that the request could not be acceded to, 'in view of the specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law and order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season and other important law and order concerns.' The police did not publicly disclose the nature of the threat inputs. Through Thursday, the concert listing stayed live on the ticketing platform, and Dosanjh kept promoting the October 30 show on social media, which fuelled both hope and confusion among fans who had bought tickets. ## A date that was already moved once The Delhi show has carried sensitivities from the start. It had earlier been scheduled for November 1 and was moved to October 30 after Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney appealed to the organisers not to hold it on the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence, out of respect for the families affected. The October 30 concert opens the India leg of the Aura tour, after which the tour is scheduled to travel to other cities, including a Mumbai date on November 27\. Friday's clearance means the tour can begin in the capital as announced, with the added security, traffic and crowd-management measures the organisers have committed to in their plan. ## What happens next With permission issued, preparations return to the stadium plan: entry, crowd movement, traffic diversions around the venue and the security deployment the police asked for. Fans holding tickets do not need to do anything, as the date, venue and show remain unchanged. Jugti had reported the withholding of permission on Thursday; this report updates that story with Friday's decision, and the earlier story now carries a note pointing readers here. ## When and where is Diljit Dosanjh's Delhi concert? The concert is on October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, opening the India leg of his Aura India Tour. ## Why was permission withheld earlier? Delhi Police cited specific threat related inputs and its festive season security and law and order commitments in a letter dated October 21 to the organisers. ## What changed to get the permission? BookMyShow Live met Delhi Police, presented a detailed plan and assured full compliance with security, traffic and crowd-management requirements. Permission was then reconsidered and issued, officials told ANI. ## Was the concert ever cancelled? No. The organisers said permission had only been temporarily withheld, and reports of a cancellation were inaccurate. The show goes ahead on October 30 as scheduled. ## In this story · from the Kosh * [**Diljit Dosanjh**Singer, actor](https://jugti.com/kosh/people/diljit-dosanjh/) Sources (3) 1.
