The village falls in the Tarn Taran community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 037921, and it covers 475 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,995 people in Bakipur: 1,042 men and 953 women, living in 360 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 475 hectares, the population density works out to about 420 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 915 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 263, about 13 per cent of the village.
