Where is Aspal kalan?

Aspal kalan is a village of Barnala tehsil in Barnala district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dhanaula, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Barnala community development block and is served by the Aspal Kalan gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 039964, and it covers 1,138 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 3,911 people in Aspal kalan: 2,058 men and 1,853 women, living in 764 households, an average of about 5.1 people per household. Spread over its 1,138 hectares, the population density works out to about 344 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 900 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 467, about 12 per cent of the village.
