The 2011 census counted 5,142 people in Khudi Kalan: 2,784 men and 2,358 women, living in 961 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 1,831 hectares, the population density works out to about 281 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 847 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 502, about 10 per cent of the village.
