It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Barnala, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Mehal Kalan community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 040010, and it covers 728 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,262 people in Raisar (Patiala): 1,204 men and 1,058 women, living in 420 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household.
