Where is Bazid Chak?

Bazid Chak is a village in Gurdaspur tehsil of Gurdaspur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dhariwal, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dhariwal community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028318, and it covers 135 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 578 people in Bazid Chak: 300 men and 278 women, living in 115 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 135 hectares, the population density works out to about 428 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 927 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 94, about 16 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 122 people, about 21 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 61.98 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 66.27 per cent and women at 57.45 per cent. The census recorded 145 workers, about 25 per cent of the village.
