Where is Doburji?

Doburji is a village in Dinanagar tehsil of Gurdaspur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dinanagar, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dinanagar community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027795, and it covers 132 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 422 people in Doburji: 214 men and 208 women, living in 90 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 132 hectares, the population density works out to about 320 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 972 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 57, about 14 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 105 people, about 25 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 83.29 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 87.36 per cent and women at 79.23 per cent. The census recorded 142 workers, about 34 per cent of the village. A further 18 people were marginal workers, employed for only part of the year.
