It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Dera Baba Nanak, about 4 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dera Baba Nanak community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028974, and it covers 285 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 247 people in Gola Dhola: 133 men and 114 women, living in 44 households, an average of about 5.6 people per household. Spread over its 285 hectares, the population density works out to about 87 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 857 women for every 1,000 men.
