Where is Jandey?

Jandey is a village of Dinanagar tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Gurdaspur, about 14 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dorangala community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027925, and it covers 99 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 558 people in Jandey: 267 men and 291 women, living in 102 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household. Spread over its 99 hectares, the population density works out to about 564 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1090 women for every 1,000 men.
