Where is Kathana?

Kathana is a village in Gurdaspur tehsil of Gurdaspur district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Majha region, and the 2011 directory recorded Gurdaspur, about 18 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Kahnuwan community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028384, and it covers 61 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 361 people in Kathana: 181 men and 180 women, living in 68 households, an average of about 5.3 people per household. Spread over its 61 hectares, the population density works out to about 592 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 994 women for every 1,000 men.
