Lamin is a village of Dinanagar tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Gurdaspur, about 8 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Gurdaspur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 028299, and it covers 312 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 447 people in Lamin: 234 men and 213 women, living in 75 households, an average of about 6.0 people per household. Spread over its 312 hectares, the population density works out to about 143 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 910 women for every 1,000 men.
