Where is Ogra?

Ogra is a village of Dinanagar tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Dinanagar, about 13 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Dorangala community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 027813, and it covers 101 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 654 people in Ogra: 329 men and 325 women, living in 131 households, an average of about 5.0 people per household. Spread over its 101 hectares, the population density works out to about 648 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 988 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 85, about 13 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 75 people, about 11 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
