Umarpur Kalan is a village of Dinanagar tehsil in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, in the Majha region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Gurdaspur, about 12 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The 2011 census counted 322 people in Umarpur Kalan: 171 men and 151 women, living in 55 households, an average of about 5.9 people per household.
