The village falls in the Jalandhar (East) community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030406, and it covers 119 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 1,291 people in Hussainpur: 628 men and 663 women, living in 283 households, an average of about 4.6 people per household. Spread over its 119 hectares, the population density works out to about 1,085 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 1056 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 136, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 1,111 people, about 86 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
