It lies in the Doaba region, and the 2011 directory recorded Kartarpur, about 10 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhogpur community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 030515, and it covers 222 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 882 people in Khanke Fatehgarh: 466 men and 416 women, living in 181 households, an average of about 4.9 people per household. Spread over its 222 hectares, the population density works out to about 398 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 893 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 91, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 384 people, about 44 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
