Where is Kotla Bhagu?

Kotla Bhagu is a village of Nakodar tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Nakodar, about 7 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Shahkot community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029913, and it covers 120 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 495 people in Kotla Bhagu: 254 men and 241 women, living in 105 households, an average of about 4.7 people per household. Spread over its 120 hectares, the population density works out to about 412 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 949 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 55, about 11 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 60 people, about 12 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
