Malliwal is a village of Shahkot tehsil in Jalandhar district, Punjab, in the Doaba region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Shahkot, about 9 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Lohian Khas community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 029843, and it covers 126 hectares.

The 2011 census counted 628 people in Malliwal: 331 men and 297 women, living in 115 households, an average of about 5.5 people per household.
