Where is Daheru?

Daheru is a village in Khanna tehsil of Ludhiana district in Punjab, India. It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Khanna, about 8 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Khanna community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 033206, and it covers 475 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 2,446 people in Daheru: 1,273 men and 1,173 women, living in 473 households, an average of about 5.2 people per household. Spread over its 475 hectares, the population density works out to about 515 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 921 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 252, about 10 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 955 people, about 39 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.
