It lies in the Malwa region, and the 2011 directory recorded Machhiwara, about 11 kilometres away, as its nearest town. Population and households

The 2011 census counted 354 people in Mahal Ghumana: 187 men and 167 women, living in 78 households, an average of about 4.5 people per household.
