Where is Ahru Khurd?

Ahru Khurd is a village of Dudhan Sadhan tehsil in Patiala district, Punjab, in the Malwa region of the state. The 2011 directory recorded Sanaur, about 28 kilometres away, as its nearest town. The village falls in the Bhunerheri community development block and has its own gram panchayat. In the census record it carries village code 036756, and it covers 104 hectares.

Population and households

The 2011 census counted 539 people in Ahru Khurd: 280 men and 259 women, living in 99 households, an average of about 5.4 people per household. Spread over its 104 hectares, the population density works out to about 518 people per square kilometre. The sex ratio was 925 women for every 1,000 men. Children up to the age of six numbered 64, about 12 per cent of the village. Scheduled Castes made up 102 people, about 19 per cent of the population, and no Scheduled Tribe population was recorded.

Literacy in 2011 stood at 72.63 per cent among residents aged seven and above, with men at 75.41 per cent and women at 69.7 per cent. The census recorded 212 workers, about 39 per cent of the village.
